“You learn to love by loving.” ~ Francis de Sales
If love is a verb then let nothing stop my action nor expressing my state or my relationship from God. And I will not allow anyone to keep me from loving though I may not feel love from others.
Love beyond Reason
“You did not choose me, but I chose you.” ~ John 15:16
No matter how my earthly father succeeded in raising me or utterly he failed me, God is my father. He chose me. Why? I do not know. I am grateful beyond measure. God has never let me down.
Love as the Lord Loves
“Jesus said to him, ‘You (I) shall love the LORD, your God with all your (my) heart, with all your (my) soul, and with all (my) mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You (I) shall love your (my) neighbor as yourself (myself). On these two commandments hall all the Law and the Prophets.” ~ Matthew 22:37-40
With all of the strife in this United States and around the globe, I pray that we learn that love is a verb not just for our own family and friends, but for all who suffer at the hands of the hateful. Christ’s love knows has no boundaries and nor borders. He is my rock and my refuge.
“And I pray that You being rooted and established in love, may have the power together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.” Ephesians 3:17-19
We are His Beloved
“We are His beloved. Let us but feel that He has set His love upon us that He is watching from the heavens with tender interest that He is working out the mystery of our lives with solicitude and fondness.” ~ A.B. Simpson
Dear Father, I give you all the praise and glory. Forgive me for not loving as you love me. May you continue to guide and lead me to sharing the love of Christ with others no matter how different they are from me. Help me to love my enemies so they may come to know You. You are my rock. Let the God of my salvation be exalted. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
