The Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, “My sheep respond to my voice, and I know who they are. They follow me and I give them eternal life. They will never be lost, and no one will tear them away from me. My Father who gave them to me, is greater than everyone else and no one will tear them away from my Father. The Father and I are one.” John 10:27-30
In my posts leading up to the Lenten season, 40-Day Fast and Lent-My Wilderness, I spoke about the clarity I was seeking in mind, body and spirit for the mission God has given me – my purpose. Throughout the Lenten season, I prayed daily this prayer:
Dear Lord, bring clarity to my confusion. Rescue me and bring rhythm to my calling just as you set the sun and the stars in motion in precise rhythm of day into night and night into day. Instill within me the patient endurance to enlighten me of my specific mission and to complete the mission with the wisdom and maturity through an unwavering faith in Christ. Grant me confidence in Your mercy and hope in Your promises. Help me to watch with You in your passion, that I remain awake to the infinite power of Your Love. In Him, give me courage and strength. Amen
This has been the most profound and spiritually awakening Lenten season I have ever experienced.
He broke my mind. He broke my body. All the while He was building a pathway to an unbreakable spirit within me.
I, like the disciples who went through a dark Saturday only to have Sunday come did my sorrow turn to joy. If I was willing to wait and trust God through the darkest of nights, I could rest knowing that the morning would come bringing light, love, mercy and grace. And in the darkest hours, I drew close to Him and He drew closer to me. (James 4:8)
Beyond the Rock
On my own, it is impossible to remove the stain of my sin. But Jesus has done what I cannot. Through the power of his death and resurrection, He has purified me of my sin.
Praying the Scripture
“But if (I) live in the light in the same way that God is in the light, (I) have a relationship with (others). And the blood of his Son Jesus cleanses (me) from every sin.” 1 John 1:7
The confidence I have in fulfilling the mission He has empowered me to do comes from an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ because of His Word and power over the grave. Jesus Christ resurrection proves He fulfills the Word of God.
I can no longer allow fear to limit me for “We know that in all things God works the good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purposes.” Romans 8:28
Grounded as in Nehemiah’s prayer, Nehemiah 1:4-11, I cannot do anything apart from God.
My second lesson I learned in this Lenten season is not to start before first seeking and receiving God’s clear instructions. As a sinful human being it is not always easy to be patient, to understand or accept what God is asking of me. Yet, I will continue to pray for clarity each day.
My third lesson is that each day is a new opportunity to begin again. My sinfulness causes me to fail, but it is not a cause to quit – for what God has anointed me to do, He has also empowered me to accomplish it.
My fourth lesson is to start the mission where I am today. Not dwell on yesterday, nor wait for tomorrow. “So, don’t worry about tomorrow. After all, tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34
God continues to reveal Himself to me every day. He never ceases to amaze me how He draws me closer to Him each day through the power of His word and presence in my life. No one need wait for Lent to be awaken to the infinite power of His love. Draw closer, He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
My Easter Prayer
Lord God, heavenly Father, I thank and praise You that Jesus Christ, your Son has risen from the dead and sits at Your right hand. Fulfill for me His promise that He will be with me even until the end of the world. Dear Lord, I boldly pray to fill me with His Spirit to carry out His commission as His disciple. As You have drawn Him closer to You, may I also draw closer to Him until His coming again. I pray in humility and gratitude in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen

My Spiritual Journey
The Prayer Journal’s blog is my personal spiritual journey in conjunction with writing my spiritual memoir.
Please reach out to The Prayer Journals if I can answer any questions about keeping a prayer journal of your own. A prayer journal is an intimate communication between you and God. You don’t have to be an articulate writer. Use your gifts to communicate with God by perhaps with your talent as an illustrator, a painter, a poet, a lyricist or creator of scrapbooks. God enjoys hearing from you. I know you will be blessed! I know I am!
I enjoy hearing from you too! I’m praying for you.
Blessings on your day,
